This delightful venue is set in the heart of the East Yorkshire countryside. The Georgian farmhouse is the backdrop to this setting and is surrounded by flowering shrubs, a herbaceous border and mature woodland. Taking centre stage is a beautiful marquee, from Village Farm Marquees and the converted threshing barn and grain store, with original oak beams and atmospheric lighting. The woodland, with fire pit, straw bale seating and lanterns is an enchanting area where friends and family can gather together and relax.
The venue offers plenty of space and is completely private and enclosed.
My husband and I bought Barff House in 2013 and began restoring this lovely old farmhouse straight away. I love gardening and have thoroughly enjoyed bringing the overgrown garden back to life. Barff has become a wonderful family home and a fantastic place to celebrate and entertain…we love filling the house with family and friends.
Our son was the first of our family to marry here, followed by our youngest daughter in 2018, but we now know that there has been a long tradition of family weddings at Barff. We think it is the perfect setting and we are very excited about the weddings booked and planned for 2019.
We only hold a small number of weddings every year and each one will be unique and entirely special. As a former headteacher, I love to organise, but I also know how important it is for each couple to have the freedom to create their own important day. My aim is to give you the flexibility to do this, whilst being on hand to help you plan and prepare.
If you are looking for a countryside venue, full of possibilities and charm, book a visit to view and let me show you around.
